These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you” or “your”) and HIPPOGLOW LTD trading as “PetJourni” (“PetJourni,” “we,” “us” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the PetJourni website, applications and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By creating an account, accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
1. Provider Information

2. Eligibility
The Services are intended for persons aged 18 years or older.
Users aged 13–17 may only use the Services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
By creating an account, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Accounts may be established by individuals, businesses, organisations and professionals, subject always to compliance with these Terms.
3. Accounts
Registration is required to access certain features of the Services. Accounts may currently be created using email/password or approved third-party authentication methods (e.g., Google). Additional methods may be introduced.
You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration and to maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials. You are responsible for all activity conducted under your account.
PetJourni reserves the right to reclaim usernames or handles that are inactive, infringe intellectual property rights, or otherwise breach these Terms.
4. User Content
4.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of all photographs, videos, text, comments, pet data and any other materials you create, upload or share through the Services (“User Content”).
4.2 Licence
By submitting, posting or otherwise making available any User Content on or through the Services, you hereby grant to PetJourni a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify for technical purposes, publicly display, distribute and otherwise use such User Content in connection with the operation, promotion and improvement of the Services.
This licence will continue until you remove or delete your User Content, except that residual copies may remain in backups and content already shared by other users may remain available.
We will not sell User Content to third parties. Public User Content may be used in our marketing materials (e.g. app store screenshots, promotional campaigns). You may opt out by contacting hello@petjourni.com.
4.3 Takedown & Repeat Infringement
If you believe your rights are infringed, notify us at hello@petjourni.com. We will investigate and may remove content or suspend repeat infringers in accordance with applicable law.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Services to:
- Post or distribute unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, obscene or sexually explicit material.
- Depict or encourage bestiality, animal cruelty, unsafe treatment of animals or dangerous challenges.
- Share private information of others without their consent.
- Upload viruses, malicious code or spam, or attempt to scrape, reverse engineer or disrupt the Services.
- Impersonate others, misrepresent your affiliation or infringe the rights of third parties.
PetJourni operates a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. Any User Content deemed to be in breach of these terms, or any user engaging in abusive behaviour, will be subject to removal and ejection from the platform. We reserve the right to remove or restrict access to any content or accounts in breach of this section without notice.
6. Pet Health & Safety
All information, content and materials available on the Services are provided for general informational and community purposes only. They do not constitute veterinary advice.
You are solely responsible for the welfare of your pets and for compliance with all local laws and regulations (including but not limited to lead, muzzle and access requirements). Always consult a qualified veterinarian regarding any medical concerns.
7. Features
The Services may include, without limitation:
- Storyline (private pet feed);
- Explore (public feed visible to all users);
- Vault (private archive);
- Packs (group/community functionality);
- Additional features such as Challenges or Competitions (separate terms may apply).
8. Moderation & Enforcement
PetJourni may use a combination of automated tools and human review to monitor and moderate content.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.
Appeals in respect of content removal or account suspension may be submitted to hello@petjourni.com.
9. Competitions & Promotions
PetJourni may from time to time operate competitions, promotions or prize draws. Specific rules and eligibility criteria will be set out in separate Competition Terms published at the time of each event. Entry may be subject to age, residency and other restrictions.
10. Paid Services
The Services are currently free of charge. PetJourni may in future introduce paid subscriptions, in-app purchases or other chargeable features. Additional terms, including payment, cancellation and refund policies, will apply to such paid Services. Payments will be processed by approved third-party providers (e.g. Stripe, Apple or Google).
11. Service Availability
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranty. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the Services with reasonable notice.
12. Third-Party Services
The Services may integrate or rely upon third-party platforms, infrastructure and providers (including without limitation Firebase, Bunny Stream, analytics and login providers). Your use of such third-party services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
13. Privacy & Cookies
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, which form part of these Terms.
14. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. Public content may remain where it has been shared by others.
We may retain backup copies for up to 90 days following deletion.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services where you are in breach of these Terms.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- PetJourni shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive or special losses or damages.
- Our total aggregate liability arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of: (a) £100; or (b) the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless PetJourni, its officers, employees and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your User Content or your breach of these Terms.
17. Intellectual Property
All rights in the PetJourni name, trademarks, logos, design and software are owned by us or our licensors. You may not use them without prior written consent. The Services and all content provided by us are protected by copyright and other laws.
18. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in your country of residence.
19. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to you by email or in-app notice. Your continued use of the Services following such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
